This jar is approved for candle fill. Glassware can withstand high heat applications, but should always be kept under 90°F differential at all times in order to avoid failure.

QUESTION
Can this jar be used to store pickles or other food grade liquids in the refrigerator? Also, what is the material of the seal gasket? Thank you for your assistance. Ridds.

ANSWER
Libbey does not recommend this item for pickle storage or food grade liquids. This item does not create an airtight seal with the glass and therefore, liquids could leak out of the container (if tipped on side or upside down). If the pickles or liquids require an airtight or vacuum seal, it would not be wise to use this jar. This jar is designed for storage of dry ingredients.

Can these jars be used for candle making? Do they withstand high heat?

ANSWER
This Libbey candle is approved for candle fill. The glass can withstand high heat applications, but should always be kept under 90 degree F differential at all times in order to avoid failure. Thanks!
