QUESTION I have 1 Tramontina knife-a bread knife- it is always sharp, it is shiny, and it never get rust on it. almost every other brand I have bought gets rusty. WHY? Is it the KIND of metal or what? I want a sharp set of knives like the bread knife I have, with NO problem with rust. Is this 15 piece knife block set what I want?
ANSWER Most, if not all, steel knives are at risk of rusting. Some knives might be more prone to rusting due to the manufacturing (such as mineral baths during processing).
You can help to prevent rust by drying your knives immediately after use.
If you are satisfied with your Tramontina knife, you might be satisfied with their Diamant set as well. You can also purchase a single Tramontina Diamant knife to see how it performs before you purchase the whole set.

I was a bit hesitant because these are stamped, not forged, blades and the price seemed too good to be true. But I own other Tramontina products and am highly satisfied with them so for the price I took a chance. These knives exceeded my expectations!
These are sharp. Really, really sharp. They cut up a watermelon with no problem, unlike my food disposer when I threw in the rind. The paring knife is great, it is my new favorite in the kitchen. Things that I would have to push down back and forth on to cut with other knives the Tramontina ones go through in one slice. Steak knives make me want to cook more steak, just so I can use them again.
Overall excellent knives from an excellent brand.

The steak knives are the best. Very sharp and stay that way for a long time. Not impressed with the cheap scissors. Several of the larger knives were not as sharp as I would have hoped, but the set is a decent price considering the great steak knives.
