QUESTION how to know when coffee is finished brewing-since level of coffee in the metal carafe (or reservoir) cannot be seen ?
B W
ANSWER Hello, users of this coffee maker should be able to hear whether or not this specific brewer is still in the process of running water, or is finished. It does have a pause feature that allows users to pour coffee before the process is done, without spilling coffee onto the plate. Thank you!

QUESTION Hi!
I am happy with this model of coffee maker, however, I am frustratedas I want a PERMANENT coffee filter instead of using the paper ones. I have been to 3 stores who all sell this Cuisinart Model DCC-450, but, they don't carry the permanent filter for them and said I had to email Cuisinart.
Can you possibly help me with this problem?
Thank You,
Irene

I use the coffee maker to maker one or two pots a day. I like it for these reasons: 1. From a four-cup pot, I don't have leftovers to "spoil" and become less flavorful the next day. 2. The pot has only three parts so is simpler to clean. 3. The carafe is unbreakable. 4. BEST OF ALL, IT MAKES EXCELLENT COFFEE!

Does the job and does it well. After reading many negative reviews, I decided to buy this coffee maker anyway. Inexpensive so that if I did not like I would discard. Little tricks I have learned to overcome some reviews cons are to gently tilt the carafe when pouring the coffee and you will have few or no drips; same with filling reservoir. This is not a pitcher of lemonade. 30 min turn off may be a con for some, however, how long do you want your coffee to sit after brewing and getting stale. YUK! Brew just what you will use in a 30 min time and if more is desired make a fresh pot. If you use a really premium grade coffee and leaving for 2hrs just to get stale why waste your money on premium coffee. Coffee is best enjoyed when freshly brewed with freshly at home ground beans.

We use this pot once in the morning. It is fast and very quiet. However, pouring water in the back is messy and gets all over the counter. Also, the spout is too flat and you have to pour the coffee in the mug over the sink because it spills all over itself and your mug. It is poorly designed.
