Does the handle act as an extension for dealing with high heat over an open BBQ?
Hello, this item has the handle which reads the temperature, and then comes with a cover for the probe. It can read temperatures from -4 to 400 degrees F. Thank you!

PDQ400, Comark Slim Pocket .... the display screen read OPEN...what does that mean and how do i fix it?
Hi. If it says "OPEN," it could mean that the cover on the battery is not completely on the thermometer. Please check to see that it is properly secured. Thanks!

Looking to do daily/shift temp/qc readings in burger/breakfast/shake restaurant; hot grill/steam to cold/freeze lines. What are the comparative/advantages/disadvantages of the PDT300 thermometer versus the PDQ400.//I currently use the PDT300 on a regular basis. ty
Both the PDQ400 and PDT3000 are field calibratable, have BioCote antomicrobial protection, both are NSF approved, both are waterproof, both have a response time of 6 seconds or less, both have a thin tip probe and a slim design, both have auto-power off, and both have a data hold feature. The PDQ400 has a temperature range of -20 to 200(C) and -4 to 400F. The PDT3000 has a temperature range of -50 to 150deg (C) and C / F switchable. PDQ400 features maximum temperature hold and a 5 year limited warranty. Hope this helps.
