Can you take the rods out of the housing to use separately?

Is use of honing or mineral oil on the ceramic rods recommended when using the Traditional 3-Rod Knife Sharpener?

what do you clean a ceramic knife sharpener with?
They recommend that you use a little mild soap and any type of soft bristle brush (like a finger nail brush) to clean.
Which of the three ceramic rods is the coarsest? Thank you.
Hello, the brown rod is the most coarse, followed by the blue rod which is medium, and then the white rod which is smooth. Thank you!
