I washed my pans in the dishwasher and used Finish detergent, they all came our dark moddled looking. I have washed them before, but not that detergent. What caused that and can they be cleaned? I love all my pans of this type and I surely do not want them to be thrown away.
Hi. Finish has been known to cause discoloring for aluminum items. You can still use it the pans and try to polish it, but it should be ok to use. For Chicago Metallic pans, it is recommended to handwash with mild soap. Here are the care instructions: WASH WITH MILD SOAP AND WATER – Commercial baking pans can be washed with pH-neutral products, but only when absolutely necessary. Do not use acidic cleansers, alkaline detergents or abrasive scrubbing
pads. Do not soak pans in water. Do not wash in automatic dishwashers.

I have this pan and it is the perfect half size pan! only problem is I can't get the pound cake to brown on the sides and bottom. Top browns beautifully and the cake is done, just not brown. I'm using Pillsbury baking spray which does good in my other pans. Any suggestions?
Hello, there are several possibilities why the sides and bottom may not be browning. It could be the actual recipe of the pound cake itself, or the temperature that it is being cooked at. Using a shortening versus a spray may help it to brown as well, as shortening has a higher fat content. Thank you!

Why is the center tube so much larger in this pan than others?
Hello, it seems to be a design decision of the manufacturer. Their angel food cake tube pans also have a "nesting ring" on the neck of the tube which keeps pans from sticking together when stacked - this may make the tubes larger than average. Different size pans might also require different sizes of tubes. Thank you!
