I am curious why the item is called a "dutch oven" it appears that it is not oven safe. I want a 5 quart cooking pot. That's what it looks like on the photo. Want to make sure I am not ordering a heavy dutch oven for my mother who cannot lift much. I also want to know if the bottom of the pot is heavier to avoid scortching?

Hello, this item is oven safe up to 350 degrees and can be used on any cooktop. This item is made of stainless steel and therefore will not be as heavy as a traditional ceramic dutch oven. Thank you!
