For all kitchen temp readings, espically at the steam table. I like that it's n ot on my arm, I do wish I could turn it off manually, and the probe cover is a little hard to take off and put back on. Small things though, great product!

WOULD THIS PRODUCT BE SUITABLE FOR CHECKING WATER TEMPS ALSO
Answer:
If you are using this to check the teprature of boiling water then you might want to use something with a longer stem. If you are checking room tempreature or something along those lines this will be ok.

Use this thermometer at work and absoulety love it, the only problem is that it sometimes does not work and the display goes haywire. Any way of this being corrected. It has a brand new battery also.
