Question:
Can this thermometer read internal food temperatures such as hams or boston butts?
Answer:
This thermometer has a K Jack. Which will allow you to insert any Type K probe, and then it will be able to read internal temperatures.

Question:
What is the distance range I can measure temperature?
Answer:
Here is the answer directly from the vendor's website. Distance does not affect the measurement. However, infrared sensors measure the energy from a circular spot on the target, and size of that spot is a function of distance between the sensor and target. The farther away from the target the sensor is, the larger the spot. Consequently, distance is only limited by the size of the object you want to measure. Thank you.

Question:
How do you calibrate the 412 cooper laser thermometer
Answer:
Hi. This laser thermometer cannot be calibrated, but if you have a K probe to connect to the jack, you can check to see its accuracy by doing an ice slurry test (should read 32 degrees F). If you have another Cooper Atkins laser thermometer that you know is accurate, you can compare their readings. If you believe that your thermometer needs service repair, then you can contact Cooper Atkin's service department, (860) 349-3473 extension 201. Thanks.

Question:
how can this be calibrated. Mine is off 5 degrees
Answer:
Hi. This laser thermometer has a full range accuracy of ±2% of reading or ±4F° (2C°) (whichever is greater), so it's close to what you're experiencing. Sorry, there is no calibration information available. Thanks!
