Can this product be used in a grill?
Hi. Taylor Gourmet Digital Cooking Thermometer / Timer
Item #: 6010844 is heat resistant up to 400 degrees F. We have a variety of grill thermometers on our site that would be better for a grill. Thanks!

I just want spare probes for my 1478-21 unit. Why can't I find them??? the comments I've read about the 1470 probes seem to indicate that they won't work properly with the 1478 and they cost almost as much as a new unit....What is going on with this TAYLOR company??? I NEED PROBES ONLY!! for my 1478...CHEAP... NOT cheaply made like the one that came with the unit!
Hi, unfortunately we do not currently carry replacement probes for your 1478-21 unit. We would suggest you contact Taylor at 1-866-843-3905 for information on replacement probes. Thank you.

Bought the thermometer gourmet w/probe just before Thanksgiving. Used it for several holiday dinners, the last one being at Christmas where it gave me perfectly cooked roasts. I set it today @155 for a boneless pork loin in the thickest area and after 30 minutes it registered 155, however, it was pretty raw in te location of the probe. Would this be a problem indicating the need for new batteries or should I purchase another one. It certainly made my life easier last Nov/Dec when I could rely on it. Thank you for any advice you can offer
Hello, it is possible that this thermometer could need new batteries - it operates on (2) AAA batteries. We would recommend also contacting the Taylor Precision Products manufacturer directly at 1-866-843-3905. They will be able to help diagnose the problem, and let you know whether this item is still under warranty. Thank you!
