Question:

Can this be used for making loose te ie does it have an infuser?

Answer:

Here is what the manufacturer says. Simply place loose leaf tea directly into the stainless steel strainer and fill pot with hot water. Allow the tea to steep as desired. Pressing the plunger pushes the tea leaves below the infusion holes and cuts off access between the water and the tea leaves, completely stopping the brewing process. With this press-pot method, the infuser does not need to be removed in order to prevent bitter over-brewing.

Question:

with a Bodum Tea press is there something that actually presses the tea or do you just put tea in and let it steep and then lift the basket out? how does the tea (loose or bags) get pressed?

Answer:

The image will be updated with a better view of the press that is in the middle of the tea press.
