Question:

What is the SAN material made of. Concerned about chemicals that may leach into the drinks. Any information about safety issues would be helpful for me purchasing for the Club.

Answer:

In regards to BPA, the SAN plastic does not contain any of it. SAN plastic is a copolymer is called styrene acrylonitrile or SAN. The SAN copolymer generally contains 70-80% styrene and 20-30% acrylonitrile. This combination provides higher strength, rigidity, and chemical resistance than polystyrene.
