From: New York, New York National Presto 6 Qt. Kitchen Cooker / Kettle
I have a deep fryer that I have used for more than 20 years. Unfortunately it does not have a name(or it wore off) In my search for another one, I came across this Presto 6 quart kitchen cooker which looked the same. When I received it, I was a bit disappointed in the weight of the fryer. It seems dangerously lightweight. I had to put too many parts together before I could use it, and the temperature control component just adhears to the fryer with a magnet (?) I haven't used it yet, but I am hoping that its performance is better than it looks! With that said, I would recommmend this item if you are looking for a 6 quart fryer because this is the only one that I could find that wasn't hundreds of dollars!

Question:
I have a very similar pot, made by National Presto that in addition to being a deep fryer, is also a crockpot. It is identical to the picture of the National Presto Kitchen Cooker, and is the same 6 qt size, has an identical cover and the same strainer basket for fried foods. The only difference is that mine has a ceramic liner which is used for slow cooking. And my pwoer dial indicates the slow cooker temperature. Would it be possible to use the liner in your pot? Does this power dial have the same markings? I am unable to tell from the picture.
Answer:
Hi. This cooker has temperature markings that go from "warm" up to 400 degrees fahrenheit. Sorry, I couldn't find any information about the liner in their manuals. It doesn't have a marking for "slow cooking" though, but if you can set the approprite temperature number with the dial. I will upload a manual with further details, and this can be found in the "literature" tab of this product page. Thanks!
