what's the difference between the Edlund #1 & #2 can openers???

Hello, model #1 can fit cans up to 11" tall, and model #2 can fit cans up to 7" tall. Thank you!

How do you get #2 apart to replace the gear? Thanks, Dale
Answer:
Hi. To remove the old gear, place a screwdriver head in the right side of the gear to jam it. Then move the can opener's handle counterclockwise until you don't feel anymore resistance. Next remove the old gear. Take the new gear, make sure that the side marked "up" is facing up (touching the washer plate), and insert those back into the opener. Hold the gear in and turn the opener's handle clockwise. There might be some instructional videos on Youtube if you want a visual explanation. Thanks!
