Can this device or one similar to it be used to measure a hot platten at 750 degrees F ?
Hello, since this thermometer has a probe it is designed more for the inside of food and food preparation areas. An infared thermometer would be better for actual hot platters not containing food. Such as item #630511 or #113013. Thank you!

What is the procedure for using this one thermometer on many types of
food. Do I buy probe wipes for use so I can use this on chicken, beef,
cold desserts? Or, should I buy a separate thermometer for each purpose?
Is this water-safe?
Hi, the manufacturer states that the P250F is not water safe. The probe portion only can be cleaned with warm soapy water, but the entire unit should not be immersed. They recommend the use of probe wipes for any probe type thermometer. Thank you.
