I am looking at purchaning a new sauce pot and I would like to know what's the difference between 8 gage aluminum and 6 gage aluminum? Which is a better quality?
The quality is the same..the gauge refers to how light and thick it is. For example a higher gauge is going to be lighter and thinner..an 8 gauge is lighter and thinner than a 6 gauge...the quality is still good but it depends on your needs and what you will be cooking. Something heavy such as a stew you might want something more heavy duty like the 6 gauge..but something light such as pasta would easily work in an 8 gauge
