We use this as intended on hi output charbroilers. My suggestion after many years of using this product is that the handle not be made of wood. I'm guessing they used wood b/c it doesn't conduct heat but charbroilers are 450*F so you still couldn't touch with your hands. These wooden handles always burn off leaving you with nothing to pick up the weight. We still use the weight the staff just can't use their tongs because there is nothing left. Instead they use a towel folded as a mit to pick up the L brackets that used to hold the wood. Make the handle Aluminum and its 5*'s!!

Hi. These steak weights have been used in grills and charbroilers that get up to 450 degrees, but the handle gets extremely hot even though they are made of wood. They are best for use on flat surface griddles. If you use it in the oven, I would suggest to wrap the wood in aluminum foil so that it doesn't get burned by the oven. Thanks! |
