I love this apple peeler! I tried one at a friend's house and it cut the time needed to peel and core apples by 75%! With apple season here, I just had to get my own and now my family enjoys apple crisp on a frequent basis because it is so simple to make. I'm sure I'll be making pies soon, too. Not so good for apples that are soft or mealy inside. I used it with two different apples, Ida red and Winesap, one of them (don't remember which) was not as firm and the core came out before I was done peeling.

I bought this apple peeler last fall after trying one at my sister's-in-law house. It made making pies and apple crisp a breeze, which my family really appreciated because they had more of them to eat. It cut the time to core, peel and slice apples to seconds instead of minutes. Next year I will buy more apples and make applesauce, too. It adjusted to various size apples. I love this item!

Upon my second use, the coring blade (at the end) kept sliding and I was unable to properly core the apples. I tried to tighten the bolt but only ended up damaging (perhaps stripping) it and now the coring blade won't stay in place. Fortunately, I bought in on sale and so only 20 dollars down the drain; I think I'll stick with the automatic apple peelers from now on. I don't recommend this machine

One of the prongs that hold the apple in broke off. The whole top screws off. Where can I buy a replacement.
