I wanted sturdy chopsticks that could be washed in the dishwasher and wouldn't be prone to mildew. In addition, they are more attractive than plastic formal occasions. These are lightly more slippery than plastic chopsticks, but the ridges near the tips make them easier to use. They are still fine for eating noodles if you are an experienced chopsticks user. Newbies might need a little more practice.
I was concerned that the metal might conduct heat too easily, making these chopsticks too hot to hold when eating soup. However, because they are hollow, the heat doesn't build up at all.
