I ordered this with a couple of 20qt size stainless steel bowls and it was essentially the same size - the rim is about 18.5" exactly like the 20qt bowls and it is also the same depth so I think 16qt is a misprint. This has more of a rounded bottom but it still sits flat compared to another brand of S/S bowl where the transition to the bottom is sharper and flatter. Makes no difference w/re: to function just a slightly different look. It is think metal but for the price it is a very good deal and had a nice shiny finish. This is very versatile bowl given its large size.
