I notice that many of your fry pans, 12", is a pre-seasoned one. I thought these weren't very good. The older models, i.e. Griswold (Erie) weren't seasoned. You did it yourself. What makes yours better? Any what are the benefits to a pre-seasoned one. ????
Hi. The benefits of a pre-seasoned one is that it's ready to use. According to Lodge, "Our award winning foundry seasoning produces cast iron of equal quality to Grandma’s prized hand-me-downs. Lodge’s foundry seasoning is similar to a home-seasoning method, but on a larger scale.
The cast iron is sprayed with a soy-based vegetable oil and then baked on at a very high temperature. The heat allows the oil to penetrate into the iron, creating a black patina finish with superior appearance and performance than home seasoning."
Please see the link below to their site regarding the seasoning: http://www.lodgemfg.com/use-care-seasoned-cast-iron.asp

Is the quantity actually 2 skillets? I just received my purchase and it had two skillets in the box. That is great if I actually purchased two skillets.
It is only one skillet that is listed with this item number. I would check your receipt to see if you were charged for two skillets. Thanks!
