The manufacturer recommends hand washing to protect the silicone glaze, but I've been putting it in the dishwasher with no ill effects. The silicone glaze is a fabulous non-stick surface. If it does eventually wear off in the dishwasher, I'll just go back to greasing the pan. No big deal for me.
I have used it only for bread so far. I don't see any reason why you couldn't cook anything else in it. I can't compare it with competing products because I have never used any. I can say that I have used this product many times, and I can't think of anything to complain about.
