From: Colorado American Metalcraft 8" Wooden Muddler
This muddler is NOT made out of lignum vitae. It is made out of a much lighter, cheaper wood that has been stained the appropriate color. This wood stain is especially problematic in a device generally used for alcohol beverages, as it tends to dissolve in the alcohol.
Unless you're a paint stain drinking enthusiast or don't value your eyesight, I would very seriously recommend avoiding this product.

Answer:
It is not recommended that you wash this muddler in the dishwasher.
