QUESTION
Exactly how much boost does this provide? Specifically, what I want to know is what is the vertical distance measured from the bottom of the entire unit to the seat part, at the low curved point, where the legs rest?

ANSWER
This chair has about a 4-3/8" seat height. Hope this helps!

i would like to know if they are good for padded chairs?

ANSWER
Hi. Yes, this has a strap to secure it to the chair, so it should be ok for padded chairs. If the pad on your chairs is very bouncy and not too firm, I would have more caution.
