QUESTION
Can the jars be used for canning and freezing?
ANSWER
The answer depends upon the temperature the glass would be heated to. If it is more than about 150 degrees F, then no. Also you should warm up the glass before filing it with wax in order to minimize thermal shocking.

QUESTION
Hello. Can you tell me if the Libbey 16oz drinking jar can be used to pour candles into? If it is rated for hot temperatures? Also, what is the neck size and thread? We normally use mayo jars that look exactly like these and they use a 70-450 lid. If these will work for us we would need 24 dozen to start. Thanks.
ANSWER
The Libbey 92103 drinking jar is not compatible for use in candle making. The lid designed for this drinking jar is the Libbey gold metal lid, model 92136 and the top diameter (neck size) is 2 5/8”.
