Is this a "maximum registering" thermometer, and how long does it hold the memory after use.

ANSWER
The Waterproof Lollipop Probe Thermometer has minimum and maximum memory feature that records the lowest and highest temperature, between -58 deg F to 392 deg F. It holds these temperaures until reset.

QUESTION
Does this thermometer need to be calibrated & what type battery?

ANSWER
Hello, this thermometer uses 1 LR44 or A76 1.5V Coin Cell battery and requires calibration. It must be calibrated with crushed ice and water unless you have a certified reference standard to calibrate at other temperatures. Thank you!

Does this product meet the NIST standard? Does the thermometer need to be calibrated. If yes, how often and how is this accomplished?

ANSWER
Hi. This thermometer can be field-calibrated with ice-bath or boiling water methods. You can calibrate it as often as you need. Calibration info: N.I.S.T. traceable by lot. Adjustable calibration resistor beneath the screw on back side. Thanks!

I have several of these thermometers and after being used for a while they start to display 4 LLLL across the screen. What can I do to fix this problem or can it be fixed. Some of the thermometers are not even 2 months old. Thank you in advance for your co-operation in this matter.
