How many hours can the food warmer be left on safely? can it be left on for 24 hours then turned off.

Hello, the manufacturer does not recommend leaving this product on for 24 hours. However, you can leave it on for awhile as long as you're checking the buffet server and the food inside every so often. They do not have a specific recommended time. Thank you!
