The knob is connected and controls the speed of the water flow, so that the grounds spend more or less time soaking, which produces a different strength of coffee.

Your brew strength selector is terrible. It is completely unclear whether the white cup or the black cup represent the stronger coffee and it is nowhere in your instructions. And judging by your completely contradictory responses on this page you don't know either. In one answer you say it is the black cup and in another answer you say it is the "fully shaded" cup which would be the white cup. Which is it?

Hello, we have verified with the manufacturer the correct way to choose brew strength for this product. When selecting brew strength, the bigger and darker circle on the left bottom sets unit to brew at a more bold/stronger brew strength. Whereas, the lighter cup and smaller circles on the top, when turning toward the right, sets the unit to brew at a lighter strength. Thank you!
