QUESTION I have used Murphy Soap for the past 50 years. While moping my floor some the water from the pail hit my white wood doors. What you suggest I used to remove the oil marks from my new wooden doors??
ANSWER The best option would be to contact the manufacturer of your wood doors to see what they recommend. You could also try one of the following methods that we found using a google search or you can do your own google search. We do not know and cannot guarantee if the methods we found will work since we do not know the type of wood. Here are a couple methods we found. 1. Mineral spirits can help to lift the oil stain from both treated and unprotected wood. Apply it using a clean cloth and rub it into the wood surface, though not so much that you oversaturate the wood. The stain should rub away. 2. Use regular dishwashing detergent or a similar cleaner designed to cut through oil. Mix one teaspoon of detergent for every 4 cups of water. Use a cloth to spread the detergent suds on the stain. Wipe clean with clear water. Good Luck.
