QUESTION I want to know if i can use this inside oven over simmering water for my cake in a jar...
Thank you...
ANSWER No, using Ball jelly jars to bake in the oven is unsafe and not recommended. The jars were not made for this purpose and could break or crack in the oven. Hope this helps!

QUESTION are these jars freezer safe? thank you
ANSWER Hello, the Ball 4 Oz. jelly jars are listed as being freezer safe. However, when filling freezer safe jars, a 1/2" of headspace should be left to allow for food expansion during freezing. Thank you!
QUESTION I'm looking into getting started with canning, and I want to purchase jars that are appropriate for what my needs are and also canning recommendations. I'm looking at these jars for canning lemon juice. I want to can lemon juice in small jars because, I use it mainly to make lemonade, and would not like to waste the lemon juice by placing it in a larger jar than what I would use. I could use a half gallon jar for orange juice, because I will obviously drink that up, but recipes may call for a few tablespoons of lemon juice. Since this has no preservatives in it, I would want to can this in the smallest container possible to avoid waste. Are smaller jars just as durable for hot water canning?
ANSWER Hello, these jars are intended generally to be used for making jelly, but should work fine for other purposes. As long as the jars are sanitized and the lid is sealed on properly, the contents should remain ready-to-serve. We would recommend also contacting the Ball manufacturer directly, as they should have more information on the different applications of their products. Thank you!
