Did you have a lemonade stand<\/strong> as a kid? Did you have a permit? These days, not having a permit could get you busted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This very thing happened recently in Denver<\/strong>. The police showed up and shut down a lemonade stand<\/a> that was being run by two young boys aged six and four. Even worse, the money they were raising was for charity. But it didn’t matter. The police shut it down<\/strong>, saying they needed a permit.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to teach my kids about being an entrepreneur and having your own business. My 6-year-old got his little toy cash register out that he got when he was about two or three and he was learning how to interact with customers and about customer service,\u201d said Jennifer Knowles, the mother of the children involved.<\/p>\n

The city has since stated that a permit was not needed. However, the legal kerfuffle was enough to attract the attention of CountryTime Lemonade<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
