I am replacing all plastic storage with glass. These are wonderful -- very attractive, great seal, easy to remove and replace lid, and being square, they use storage space efficiently. The only drawback is that they are heavier than plastic, but that's a trade I'm willing to make. I'm not worried about breakage, as they are very sturdy.
